Championships and requirements for seniors' National Team - a bunch of news from PCA
Yesterday Polish Curling Association announced a few important news on their site. Here we translate the most important point from them.
Requirements for National Team for World Senior Championships
As we informed, the team from Gliwice will represent Poland in upcoming World Senior Championships in Sochi. PCA set a list of requirements for them. First of all, the team is obliged to get clothing following WFC's dress code, at their own expense. They will also have to cover all costs of travel and accomodation during their stay in Sochi. An administrative fee of 2000 zł is to be paid to the Association and in case of not meeting those requirements the team should pay 1000 USD of penalty (which is supposed to cover cancellation fee that would be imposed on PCA).
National Championships announced
This year all championships will take place in Warsaw. Men and Women chapionships, in which 12 and 6 teams (respectively) will take part, will be played on 8-12.04 and will be preceded by qualifying tournament. Junior championships, 8 teams each, are scheduled for 20-22.03.
This year, also, after 6-years break, Mixed Doubles are going to return to national level. 54 pairs submited for participation and the championships will be plaed on 26.02-1.03.
Polish Curling Association entrusted Polish Federation of Winter Sports with organizing the latter event. It is worth mentioning that the president of PFWS is a former director of sport in PCA - Mirosław Wodzyński. Also, the secretary is Wojciech Hunkiewicz - current member of the board at PCA, and the treasurer is Andrzej Janowski - current director of sport and chief of audit committee.
